Mt. Whitney - Day 2 (Tuesday, September 20, 2011)

Outpost camp -> Trail camp (2.5 miles)

A nice easy day before the push to the summit tomorrow.

 Starting off to Trail camp.

View looking back to where we first started. You can see Bighorn Meadows and Lone Pine Lake down below.

Above the treeline. Still patches of snow in September.

 Mirror Lake.

Slowly gaining elevation.

Break time and taking in the views.

Consultation Lake. 11,680 ft.

Reached Trail Camp. Mr. Suh scoping the area to set up camp.

Home for the the night and tomorrow night. From here we could watch the hikers coming down from the 99 switchbacks and we could see Trail crest, where we would be going very soon.

Since we were going to be here for 2 nights, we decided to build ourselves a bathroom so we could use our wag bags comfortably. David building a wall for the bathroom.

Our toilet where we could put the wag bags.

Testing our bathroom out. David's beautiful wall and the best bathroom in all of Whitney.

View of our camp from afar.

Our kitchen/dining area. Making dinner mid-afternoon and relaxing before the big hike tomorrow. We slept before the sun even set that day.

Taking one last look behind us before we try to make it to the summit tomorrow.
