Saturday-Monday, January 11-13, 2014 - Hong Kong

Arrived back in Hong Kong late Saturday night, January 11th, from Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Spent the last of the free time in the city, Stanley Market area, and visiting my grandma who was in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Left Hong Kong on the 23:55 flight back to LA on Monday night, January 13th.

Taiwan - Day 5 (Friday, January 10, 2014)

Hengchun Township, Pingtung County - Chuohuo (Eternal flame), residential area for beef noodle soup
Kenting National Park, Pingtung County - Maobitou, Baisha Bay (White Sand Bay)

Stayed the night at a B&B in Kenting.

 Fruit stands: "Sugar apples" - Annona squamosa and "Wax apples" - Syzygium samarangense were in season.

Chuhuo - Cracks in the mudstone in which natural gases are released and ignited. 
A man was roasting corn here and selling it to tourist that came by.

This beef noodle shop is hidden in a residential area and is actually the bottom garage converted into a noodle restaurant.

 Just to the east of Kenting National Park, Maibitou, is an area where the water has different shades of blues. The water coming out is heated from a near-by power plant and it clashes with the darker blue of the ocean.
