Taiwan - Day 1 (Monday, January 6, 2014)

After staying a few hours at the Hong Kong Regal Airport Hotel to shower and sleep, we walked over to the airport for an early flight to Taiwan.

We arrived at the Kaohsiung Airport in Taiwan in the morning.

From there we drove to the Alishan National Scenic Area. Stopped at the Tian Chang Di Jiu Suspension Bridge ("Lover's Bridge") and the Longyin Temple in Chukou Village. Next was a lunch of local ethnic food overlooking tea farms with a view of the mountain range. We boarded a train at the Alishan Train Station to the Tashan Trail.

We stayed the night at a local B&B that was in the home of a tea farmer.
