From Alishan Township in Chiayi County, we drove to Jiji Township in Nantou County.
Jiji, Nantou: Wuchang Temple, Jiji Small Railway Line
Road the Jiji Railway line from Jiji to the last stop at Checheng Village in Shuili Township in Nantou County.
From Checheng Village we drove to Puli Township in Nantou County.
Puli, Nantou: Guangxing Paper Mill, Brewery Factor, 18 Degree Chocolate Factory
From Puli Township, we drove to Ren-Ai Township in Nantou County.
Stayed at a B&B in Ren-Ai Township.


Jiji Township, Nantou County

Wuchang Temple: Collapsed in the 921 earthquake on September 21, 1999, in which 2,415 people were killed.

 New temple built to replace Wuchang Temple.

Checheng Village train station in Shuili Township. In 1919, during the Japanese colonial era, a hydroelectric power plant was being built at the Sun Moon Lake. The Jiji Branch Railway was used to transport equipment and materials needed for construction work.

Checheng Village: Outside the Wood Museum. This area is beautifully surrounded by mountains, with green plants against the color of the dark wood. The cherry blossoms were just beginning to bloom and the weather was just right.

At the Brewery Factory, there was a man making hand-made ginger candy.

18 Degree Chocolate Factory. 18 degree Celsius is the optimum temperature they believe is best for making and keeping the flavor of their chocolate. 

18 Degree Chocolate Factory: In order to go into their store to buy chocolate, you must get a number slip outside the store and wait until they call your number to go in. The reason is they only allow a certain of number people inside and they try to minimize the opening and closing of the doors because the inside of the store is set to a certain temperature to preserve their chocolate.
