East Coast/Canada - Day 7 (Tuesday, August 23, 2016: Camden to Bar Harbor)

Camden: Breakfast was included at the place we were staying, Bay Leaf Cottages and Bistro. We picked up a lunch to-go at Camden Deli.

Camden to Bar Harbor: approximately 77 miles, 1 hour and 50 minutes

Bar Harbor: Acadia National Park (Schoodic Point, Bubble Rock Trail, Cadillac Mountain), dinner at Cafe This Way, ice cream at CJ's Big Dipper, stayed the night at Acadia Gateway Motel.

Schoodic Point. Schoodic Point is at the southern tip of Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor, a few miles east of Bar Harbor. The rocky shoreline is made of granite with volcanic dikes of basalt formed from the cooling of magma. We ate our lunch here that we bought to-go in Camden and relaxed on the rocks as we enjoyed the view. Acadia National Park, Maine.

View along the way from Schoodic Point back to Bar Harbor. Acadia National Park, Maine.

Back to the main part of Acadia National Park, we did a small hike to Bubble Rock. The trail is approximately one mile and takes you to a big rock that appears to be precariously perched on the side of the mountain. Acadia National Park, Maine.

View from Cadillac Mountain, the highest point in the park and the tallest mountain along the Eastern coast of the United States, at 1,530 feet. Acadia National Park, Maine.

With not too many choices in Bar Harbor, we ate dinner at Cafe This Way and walked around the town, ending with ice cream at CJ's Big Dipper. Shown above: Vietnamese salad, lobster roll, Zucchini "noodles", and mushroom noodle bowl with fresh lobster claws. Bar Harbor, Maine.
